Waxing vs. Threading

Waxing vs. threading

If you’re considering different hair removal techniques, threading vs. waxing is probably something you’ve debated.

Spoiler alert: we recommend waxing.

Ok, you saw that coming. But while it’s no secret we love waxing, there are several solid reasons why waxing trumps threading in almost any situation.

Waxing is gentler on hair follicles.

Waxing removes hair follicles by swiftly pulling them in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Threading, on the other hand, uses a cotton thread in an entwining, twisting and rolling pattern to essentially lift hair, either individually or in rows, from the root. This technique leaves little room for error. The skin must be pulled taut enough to prevent any nicks. Plus, hairs tend to break if the treatment is performed by an unskilled technician.

Waxing takes less time.

We designed all of our locations to be chic, modern and welcoming, but understand that you don’t want to spend a whole afternoon there. Plus, when it comes to any type of hair removal, faster is always better. Threading can be quick if you go to a professional salon, but waxing is definitely quicker.

waxing is quicker than threading

Gotta run? Choose waxing over threading.

Threading is more painful.

There’s a reason why the saying is “rip the band-aid off” instead of “slowly and meticulously ease the band-aid off.” While the pain of both waxing and threading is nothing you can’t handle, why draw it out with a technique that takes longer? (And remember, the more you wax, the less it hurts!)

Waxing is more versatile.

Threading works for removing unwanted hair in the brow and other facial areas, but for regions with coarser, more abundant hair like arms or legs? You’re gonna want to stick with waxing.

Waxing lasts longer.

Everyone’s hair grows differently, but on average, waxing results last almost twice as long as threading. Another point for waxing when it comes to efficiency (and getting more bang for your buck!).

To us, the choice is clear: waxing for the win!
