5 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Got Waxed

What to Know Before You Get Waxed

Coming in for your first Brazilian or Leg Wax (or any wax for that matter) can be a bit intimidating, we know. But it’s really all about getting over the hump of that first visit. Once you’ve done it, you’re basically a pro!

To help you feel more comfortable, here are 5 things we’ve heard from some of our seasoned guests that they wish they knew before their first wax. After all, knowledge is power (and a giant confidence-booster!).

1. DIY Waxing Is a Defnite DON’T

Waxing, no matter which body part, is 100% something that should be left to the pros. It may seem simple, but complications like hard-to-reach places, uneven brows and ingrown hairs in sensitive spots can easily pop up if you don’t know what you’re doing.

2. Choose Your Waxing Day Outfit Carefully

Ok, this is weird, but important: make sure to wear loose-fitting clothing to your waxing appointment. You’re likely to be a little sore afterwards, and squeezing into tight leggings or skinny jeans could be a bit of a struggle and may actually cause a rash (cringe).

3. Hard Wax vs. Soft Wax: It Matters

Hard and soft wax work a little differently, and each is suited to different body parts and skin types. At Waxxpot, we have our own proprietary soft wax that’s formulated to remove baby-fine, hard-to-get, tiny hairs and provide an extra protective barrier for sensitive regions. Don’t worry, your Waxx Specialist will know exactly which kind of wax is best for you – another reason to leave waxing to the pros!

4. Pre-wax Prep Is Important

The number one thing you can do to prepare for your wax is to NOT shave. Your hair should be at least ¼ of an inch long (about the size of a grain of rice). Our Waxx Specialists are very skilled, but they can’t wax something that’s not there! We also recommend exfoliating and moisturizing skin regularly before your wax to get the best results.

5. Some Activities Should Be Avoided Right After Your Wax

To avoid irritation and possible infection, there are some activities that should be put on hold for 48 hours after getting waxed, including working out, hitting the beach or pool, and getting intimate.

Now that you have all the knowledge of a Waxxpot regular, your first visit should be a breeze. There’s only one thing left to do – Book Now!
